Performers play in the wind ensemble for the rehearsal clinic with Dr. Ambrose on Saturday morning, and for wind ensemble lab sessions with the 14 registered Conductors on Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning, and Sunday afternoon. You may register for one or more sessions, depending on your availability. There is no fee to participate as a Performer. To register as a wind ensemble lab performer click here. This is a different registration form than the form for Conductors/Auditors below.
Auditors are encouraged to participate in the Score Study Workshop (via Zoom on April 17), encouraged to join us for the Percy Grainger House Tour on May 31, attend all sessions on June 1 & 2 as observers, including the first two sessions on Saturday morning (reserved for Auditors and Conductors only), and the three post-lab debriefing sessions. We will reserve one-half of the Conductor registrations (“right of first refusal”) at the next Symposium for those who register as Auditor in 2024. Lunch on Saturday and Sunday are provided for Auditors and Conductors, and included in the registration fee, along with the Grainger House tour (if selected).
Registration fees for Auditors are $100 for current music education undergrads, $150 for MEBCI/WSW members, and $300 for non-members. To register as an Auditor, click here.
Conductors are strongly encouraged to participate in the Score Study Workshop (via Zoom on April 17), encouraged to join us for the Percy Grainger House Tour on May 31, and attend all sessions on June 1 & 2 as active conducting participants. Each Conductor will conduct three times (12-minute podium segments) during the lab wind ensemble sessions on Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning, and Sunday afternoon. Conductors are asked to prepare two works/movements from the repertoire list, to conduct one on Saturday afternoon and one on Sunday morning (emphasis on podium technique), then choose one of those two works for the final lab session on Sunday afternoon (emphasis on rehearsal technique). Each lab session concludes with a debriefing session for Auditors and Conductors only. Lunch on Saturday and Sunday are provided for Auditors and Conductors, and included in the registration fee, along with the Grainger House tour (if selected).
Fees are $350 for MEBCI/WSW members, and $500 for non-members. NOTE: all conductor spots for 2024 have sold out.
