Symposium schedule

Wednesday, April 17 – Pre-Symposium Score Study Workshop

Curt Ebersole will lead this 1 hour Zoom workshop to renew/refresh score study for conductors. Optional for all, but strongly recommended for Conductors and Auditors attending a conducting symposium such as this for the first time.

This workshop will be held on Wednesday, April 17 at 7:30 pm. The Zoom link will be sent to all conductors/auditors who have registered by that date.

Friday, May 31 – Celebrating the legacy of Percy Grainger

On Friday evening, participants are invited to join us for a tour of the Percy Grainger House, 7 Cromwell Place, in White Plains, NY. This is optional for all conductors and auditors, but will be capped at 20 registrants because of space limitations.

6:00 pm – Tour of the Percy Grainger House (tour admission included in registration fee)
7:30 pm – Dinner (out of pocket) at Ron Black’s, one block from the PGH.

Saturday, June 1 – Symposium Day 1 – Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan, NJ

8:30 am – Coffee & donuts in Choir Room
9:00 am – Clinician presentation/demonstration with Curt Ebersole – “Enriching Your Rehearsals with Positive Psychology”
10:00 am – Guest presentation with Dr. Joseph Bello – “Under-represented Composers and their Repertoire”
10:30 am – Break
10:45 am – Clinician rehearsal/demonstration with Dr. Robert Ambrose, on stage
12:00 pm – Lunch in Choir Room
1:00 pm – Wind Ensemble conducting lab #1, on stage.
4:00 pm – Closing discussion for Conductors/Auditors, in Choir Room

 Sunday, June 2 – Symposium Day 2 – Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan, NJ

8:30 am – Coffee & donuts in Choir Room
9:00 am – Wind Ensemble conducting lab #2, on stage.
12:00 pm – Lunch in Choir Room.
1:00 pm – Wind Ensemble conducting lab #3, on stage – rehearsal techniques emphasis
4:00 pm – Closing discussion for Conductors/Auditors, in Choir Room.
5:00 pm – Symposium ends
