Conductor update and Undergrad Auditor registration added

We already have 7 Conductors registered for this year’s Symposium. Only 5 Conductors’ spots remain at this point for the Symposium on May 31/June 1-2.

We are pleased to announce that we are adding a new registration track: Undergrad Auditor, and the registration fee is only $100.00. This is a great option for current undergrad music education majors (including those graduating in May 2013). Undergrad Auditors will receive 13 hours of in-service credit. They will attend all the Symposium events intended for Conductors and Auditors, including Friday’s rehearsal clinic, the lecture-demonstrations and debriefing sessions at the end of each day, the wind ensemble lab sessions, and the chamber ensemble lab session. Note: Undergrad Auditors are expected to play in the Wind Ensemble lab sessions.

This new registration track is a great way for undergraduate music majors to gain insights into advanced conducting techniques, and observe a nationally-recognized master teacher and conductor. Undergrad Auditor registration includes coffee/bagels and lunch each day.

2012 WCS Wrapup

A big note of thanks!

Thank you to everyone – performers, auditors, and conductors – who attended this year’s Wind Conducting Symposium. I am grateful to the members of the Westchester Symphonic Winds who played the sight-reading clinic on Friday night. And Dr. Thompson and I agreed that Saturday & Sunday’s lab ensembles were two of the best ever.

Congratulations to the conductors for their courage to prepare and attend this workshop. Thank you to Kyle Kubicki, librarian; Allison Beckley, transcriber; Louis Alloro, guest speaker; and Dr. Mallory Thompson, our clincian. And, thank you to our sponsor, the Music Educators of Bergen County, Inc., Brian Timmons, President.

By subscribing you will get news updates about next year’s event. Stay tuned!

I’ve reassembled all of the photos I took over the weekend into one slide show, below. What a handsome crew! Thank you again!
